The politician posted them on Facebook. So far, LVŽS has not received an invitation from the Social Democrats to join the coalition, but consultations with this political force continue.
„Since there are questions about why nobody wants to work with LVŽS, I will explain. And indeed, not briefly.
1. The reliability and stability of partners are always important, primarily when you work in a ruling majority and have to make decisions. Anyone who has worked with LVŽS in the opposition has seen what happens when you make an agreement with Norkienė. At the same time, Karbauskis and the company released press releases saying no deal was valid and that the party had decided otherwise. This was the case, for example, with the opposition's attempt to investigate the story of the refusal of Bartoševičius, who is accused of paedophilia.
When Norkienė and I were coordinating the issues of the investigation and the text of the resolution, all of us in the opposition, to the delight of the Conservatives, received statements and a press release from Karbauskis saying what scoundrels they all were that they wanted to call an extra session of the Seimas to investigate the story and, not least, to make a name for themselves. I am trying to imagine how the ruling LSDP coordinates the draft law, agrees with the LVŽS group and gets a press release in the „forehead“ that everyone is bad and it will be different, as it was invented by a person or people who are not involved in politics,“ wrote Širinskienė.
Another reason, according to politicians, is the culture of partners.
„Over the last six months, LVŽS bosses (leaders I can't bring myself to name) have called Žemaitaitis a liar, Skvernelis a „traitor without a word“ and a „general“, and a week ago, the LSDP were called thieves because they stole the Peasants' votes after Blinkevičiūtė had „impersonated“ them. The Democrats and we, the Nemuno Aušra (The Dawn of the Nemunas), have also been labelled as conservative projects. Indeed, it was also promised that Žemaitaitis would soon be impeached (I don't know, maybe the LVŽS and the Conservatives are discussing this?).
It may be normal for the LSDP to feel like thieves who stole someone else's votes (good luck, feel free), but it is not normal for other potential partners to be called „traitors,“ „liars,“ or „generals,“ and then the next day, with their eyes bulging out of their heads, be encouraged to work together and trust each other as much as anyone.
Try this with your neighbour, your mother, your friend, your co-worker or your business partner. See how willing they are the next day to talk, trust, and cooperate,“ explained Ms Širinskienė.
According to a member of Nemuno Aušra, when you consider someone a partner and think about working with them, you don't usually try to split their group in the Seimas.
„This is about LVŽS representatives calling the elected members of Nemuno Aušra and attempting to trade positions by splitting the nascent Nemuno Aušra group in the Seimas. Of course, there is a market in posts that LVŽS does not have or has not even decided on (waiting for the LSDP's favour), but they are laughing and promising to give them all away. Would anyone go with such an intelligent partner who is aiming to put a knife in your back at first aim before you even start work?“ Širinskienė.
Another argument of the politician is the Ignas Vėgėlė factor.
„The unpredictable election campaign, when the „team“ and the „party“ advertised themselves separately, the different election programmes, which were then presented as a „special leak to attract attention“, the first morning after the elections, the difference of opinion on the defeat in the elections and the 5% and 7% bar, the criticism of the projects submitted by the members of the LVŽS faction in the Seimas to Vėgėlė's comments on social networks that he would „seriously talk“ to such members show that the further course of events in the LVŽS group depends more on the vibrations of the frequencies of the universe, rather than on deliberate political decisions.
Vėgėlė's indication that he will quit the LVŽS group if LVŽS remains in the opposition also seems uninspiring. Maybe such chatter can influence the Peasants, but with so much talk, one should not think that other politicians do not know how to read between the lines and only see the formally declared stability,“ wrote the MP.
According to Širinskienė, the fifth reason is „the room of secrets in the Seimas“.
„Former Prime Minister Skvernelis spoke about it on the eve of the elections, which was not the best time to talk about it, and Karbauskis tried to dump the situation by immediately identifying himself with the person of Nausėda, who was the target of the Conservatives' investigation. It was a clever public relations move to attach himself to another respected and famous person in society, and that was that. But... I have also read the conclusions of the Bakas Commission (which I did not and will not endorse because of cheap politicking during the presidential election campaign).
The episodes that the former Prime Minister is talking about shocked and surprised me, too, and I began to see some of the events of the 2016–2020 parliamentary term in a completely different light. I have discussed them with the former Prime Minister. How did I feel reading the episodes? Badly. I realised that we in the LVŽS group were often lied to during the 2016–2020 parliamentary term. Even to our closest comrades. And what the hell, but I wouldn't say I like the lies. Many other things have come to light which will remain classified material, if only because declassification would reveal, at least to some extent, intelligence methods.
That is always a contraindication to declassification. I do not understand why Vytautas Bakas did not expand on these episodes during the investigation, even though they seemed to me to be the most exciting episodes and the ones that deserved to be developed in the context of the inquiry, which was not very good in all other respects. Strangely, the commission members (the commission was only „fixated“ on the presidential elections) did not ask more in-depth questions about the elements of possible acts in other contexts.
At least for me, there were a lot of questions as I read. Therefore, in the face of the „coalition partners“ that are being pushed and shoved around, I would very much like to be left with the feeling that we are being invited to work in a coalition of fertilisers of the X State, with all the ensuing consequences, threats to national security and headaches, when you are up from morning till night explaining what your partners have been up to behind the scenes. I would like to hear the opinion of LSDP representatives authorised to work with classified material on what they have read in the secret room.
If they did, I do not recall seeing their signatures on those particular documents. And I would certainly wish LSDP members to read it, especially before they try to impose on Nemuno Aušra from a position of strength negotiations with those „partners“ whose „partnerships“ were not discussed with us until last night,“ Širinskienė said.
