„The possibility of working in a coalition is certainly difficult to grasp today,“ assured Blinkevičiūtė.
According to her, there are no forecasts that the LSDP will be in opposition in the new term, but she reiterates that everything is in the voters' hands.
On Friday, the politician was again asked in the programme Opozicija (Opposition) on Žinių Radijas about Žemaitaitis, who has left the Seimas and is preparing intensively for the parliamentary elections.
Earlier, Blinkevičiūtė did not rule out that the LSDP and the force he leads could work in a ruling coalition, which has led to very controversial reactions. Now, she thinks otherwise.
„Aren't we paying too much attention to one person? And all the time, we make all the programmes and portals for some reason about one person.
Aren't there more problems in Lithuania? Aren't they more important?“ – the Chairwoman of the Social Democratic Party said when asked about Žemaitaitis.
According to Blinkevičiūtė, hearing the statements of the leader of Nemuno Aušra, it is obvious to her that there are problems with this party's leader.
„To be honest, I'm speaking very openly, we are truly not on the same path with dividers, agitators, manipulators – we will certainly not form a coalition with such parties,“ said the MEP, who first mentioned the Conservatives, but then went on to mention Žemaitaitis himself.
„I also appreciate the words spoken by the leader of one of the parties. I have been in politics for a long time, and now I say responsibly and sincerely that I should reflect on my words every time.
Perhaps Remigijus is still a young man, even though he is no longer a young politician, having served three terms in the Seimas and having escaped from the Seimas before his impeachment. Still, he should nevertheless choose his words very responsibly.
It is impossible to behave as he has been lately, and the lines have been crossed. It is time to stop, and it is time to take stock. This is my position,“ stated Blinkevičiūtė.
